Day 1: Johannesburg / Sun City
On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg), a Thompsons Representative will meet and assist you to your hired vehicle. Make your way to the famous Sun City Resort, which offers entertainment for the whole family. The Sun City Resort has 2 championship golf courses, and numerous sporting facilities, as well as a man-made wave pool.
Day 2: Sun City
Spend your day enjoying the many activities this resort has to offer.
Day 3: Sun City / Madikwe Game Reserve
After breakfast, travel along the N4 though Zeerust to the Madikwe Game Reserve. The Madikwe Game Reserve
has the ‘Big Five’, fantastic birdlife and is best known for its sizeable packs of endangered wild dogs.
Day 4 & 5: Madikwe Game Reserve
Experienced rangers will take you into the bush on dawn and dusk safaris. Not only does the reserve boast the ‘Big Five’ but it also has the ‘Super Seven’! This adds cheetah and wild dog to the traditional five – leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Spend the days exploring this vast reserve.
Day 6: Madikwe Game Reserve / Cradle of Mankind / Johannesburg
After an early morning game drive, make your way back towards Johannesburg. We suggest you visit Maropeng, and discover the ‘Cradle of Humankind’ – a World Heritage Site. After enjoying the interactive multimedia exhibition on hominids and modern man, make your way back to OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg), for you onward fl ight.
