Day 1: Arrive Cape Town / Winelands
On arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport, you are met and assisted to the Car Hire Depot. Collect your vehicle and head for the seaside village of Plettenberg Bay. After checking in, spend the remainder of the afternoon, exploring this holiday haven, lined by several miles of white sands, backed by the blue-grey outline of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and lapped by an endless succession of gentle waves.
Day 2: Winelands)
Spend today exploring the Cape Winelands at your leisure. A haven of gracious, white-gabled farmsteads evokinga rich, elegant heritage, the Cape Winelands are the heart of the grape and wine production in the country, steeped in history and scenic beauty. Experience the hospitality and beauty of Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek. Visit some of the many wine farms, or stroll down a beautifully restored street in one of the historical town centres and visit the museums and monuments that pay homage to our proud history.
Day 3: Winelands / Oudtshoorn
Depart the Cape Winelands today and head for ‘Route 62’, one of the most beautiful travel routes in South Africa, as well as one of the least known and least travelled ones. Make your way via Robertson, to Montagu and onto towns like Barrydale and Calitzdorp, a Port Wine producing area. Arrive in Oudtshoorn, affectionately known as the ‘feather capital’, because of its large ostrich farming industry. Visit an ostrich show farm for an informative tour, or explore the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders.
Day 4: Oudtshoorn / Knysna
Travel over the scenic Outeniqua Pass to George, nestled below the Outeniqua Mountains, and onto the lagoon town of Knysna. Spend today exploring Knysna, one of the Southern Cape coast’s best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon.
Day 5: Knysna
Knysna offers its visitors many activities and attractions. The most well known attraction being the ‘Heads’, two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea. Take a ferry boat cruise across the lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve for a stroll through the
forests and a view of the ‘Heads’.
Day 6: Knysna / Port Elizabeth
Travel to Port Elizabeth today where you drop off your hired car and check in for your onward fl ight.
